In 2001, I stole a basic LEGO kit from my
daughters.
I discovered several different ways of
making very stable rings and other
curved objects from only rectangular LEGO bricks
(here is the original page).
Certain natural tilting angles between LEGO pieces
define diameters of corresponding circles.
The resulting
low-complexity artworks are both simple (in terms of
algorithmic complexity) and surprising to those who haven't seen them before.
They reflect the formal theory of creativity and beauty, as well as
that of curiosity.
